| Rodgers 1985 Chevy Silverado has under gone many
changes since his wife Beverly found it on a Ford Dealers lot. Rodger rescued it and gave
it a new home and a new Georgia License Plate, NASTY 85. Rodger started with replacing the original 305 engine with a beefed 350 with four bolt mains. The heart of the 350 is a Crane Super Commander Cam Shaft. Running stock push rods and lifters, going to a set of 202-164 valves with double valve springs and push rod guide plates. The cast crank slings stock rods with a 10 to 1 compression ratio pistons. A Mellings high volume oil pump keeps all the moving parts lubed. The engine is fed by a 750 dual line Holley Carburetor into a Edelbrock C4B Intake Manifold. The ignition is fired by a Mallory Unilite Distributor and a Mallory High Output Coil. The exhaust is handled by a pair of Sanderson Exhaust Headers through dual 3 inch exhaust pipes and 3 inch Flow Master Mufflers. The chassis has been slammed using a 4-6 Belltech Drop Kit. Belltech dropped front spindles and springs up front and a C Section Flip Kit in back. Rodgers NASTY 85 rides on Cragar Street Stars 15 X 8 up front and 15 X 10 in the rear, shod with a set of B.F. Goodrich 235 X 60 X 15S on the front and 295 X 50 X 15S on the rear. The body has undergone changes as well including shaving the door handles and locks. drip rails, big mirrors, side marker lights and silverado emblems. The tailgate was also smoothed and filled along with the bedrails. The inside of the bed was updated with new oak wood and polished stainless steel strips, along with a roll top bed cover. A ZR1 roll pan and lights finish off the rear and a 3 inch Cowl Hood with a stainless steel square tube grill finishes off the front. The interior of NASTY 85 was done by Shadburns of Macon, GA. The seats, new dash pad and overhead console was done in burgundy. The interior also has wood trim and a signature series Grant Steering Wheel. NASTY also sports all the creature comforts like power steering, power windows, air conditioning and a Kenwood CD Stereo System. The smooth black paint and body work was done by Jeff Schnable, Owner of R & L Auto Body in Warner Robins, GA. |
