I have provided post-op pictures of Maggie following her cleft palate repair surgery for other parents facing the same surgery. Before Maggie's surgery I was able (thanks to a generous parent) to see similar pictures of another child, and it helped me a great deal in preparing. These pictures may be difficult to look at. There is some blood and swelling from the surgery, she was on an IV, and there were wires connecting her to monitors for vital signs. She also had to wear arm restraints to keep her hands out of her mouth. There are pictures of the inside of her mouth following the surgery as well.
If you would like to see the pictures anyway, click on! Otherwise you may want to look at the pre-op photos (nothing scary or disturbing there), or go back to the regular photos page.
