Looking for any info on George Martin ST JOHN Jr. and his
wife Mary Caroline BROWN. George was born in Cannon Co. on Feb.
6, 1860 and died in Morgan Co., AL on Jul. 15, 1934. Mary was
born on March 20, 1860 and died on April 26, 1930 in Morgan Co.,
AL. They lived in Cannon Co. until about 1900 or so when the
moved to AL. Have a good bit of info on the ST. JOHN family.

Three of their daughters left Cannon Co. for Marion Co. and married there.
Their names were Louisa ( my greatgrandmother married William Hughes

Gaberiel Murphy MEARS was one of at least eight children born to
William MEARS and Elizabeth STEVENS in Cannon Co. [AREA] ca. 1810. This
branch of the family left TN and moved to AR about 1860. Gaberiel
married Sarah Elizabeth PHILLIPS about 1832 in Warren County. Any

Seeking info on William C. MILLER born in TN around 1817. He married Elvira Lundy SEWELL or SEAWELL (born 1826) on September 25, 1841 in Cannon County. The 1850 census shows the family living in Cannon County Tennessee Civil District 6 with four children Sarah L. (1843), Thomas T (1845), Elizabeth (1847) and William H. (1848).
After Lundy Sewell Miller's death, William C. Miller married Martha Weedon BREWER on July 25, 1852. They had three children Ella (1853) Tennie (1856) and George (1858).
I would like to hear from anyone who has any information on William C. Miller with particular emphasis on his parents and siblings.

Doing research on Mechanicville TN a community that existed around
1840 to early 1900. Had a post office, general store and several
other businesses. Big part of the community was the Short Mt.
Methodist church that held camp meetings in the 1840's. I have just

married Frances (Fanny) RAWLINS. They had about 15 children:

I am trying to connect James Wesley GILLEY as the son of John W. and
Martha Wilson GILLEY. James Wesley GILLEY was born in 1866 and died
1912. He was married to Sarah Elizabeth BROWN (daughter of A. J.
BROWN and Nancy DUKE)on July 16, 1885 in Cannon County. James Wesley

Interested in Rachel BROWN. Appears 1880 Cannon Co, TN age 70 as

I'm researching my family and could use some help. My great
grandfather was William Washington Gilley (I believe he was born in
May, 1862). He married Malinda Izora Bush (born December 10, 1863, I
believe) sometime in the 1880's. [Note; there is a Cannon Co. marriage recorded, between William Gilley and "Linnie" Bush, on 5/28/1883] They migrated to Texas in the early
1900's. My grandmother and her siblings all claim they came from
Gilley Hill - but my grandmother, Edith, said she was born in
Murfreesboro.
Children's names were: Howard, Captain Arthur, John Sherman, Morris, Walter,
Edith Hazeltine (my grandmother), Elizabeth Malinda, and Drusilla. (I believe there was another female child who was either stillborn or died in infancy)
Does anyone, by chance have any information on birthdates, full names,
William Washington's and Malinda's parents, grandparents, etc.?
Anything you could provide would be a tremendous help. I've just
begun to explore all of this.

looking for ANY info about Ivory SUMMERS & wife, Jane, found on 1860 Cannon
county census. Children Sarah 13, Amanda 10, Cassia 8, Jas. 6,
Jacob 4, Susan 1. They were previously in Rutherford county.
Children Wm. G., Mary and Granville that were on 1850 Rutherford
census are not in HH now. Granville apparently died shortly after
1850 census either in RU or CA Co. IVORY & JANE were app. divorced
by 1870 because they are separate HH in Cannon Co. IVORY is in
Warren Co. by 1880. He married twice more and had more children. He
and daughter Emma are bur. in Stroud cemetery. Other family menbers
are bur. in Bascom cemetery.

Does anyone have more info on the following Stanley men who appear on
the 1840 Cannon Co. Census and who I believe might be brothers: J.
H. Stanley, Thomas STANLEY, Moses F. STANLEY and Moses C. STANLEY. I
have the same question about Christopher VANDEGRIFF, James VANDEFRAFF
(VANDEGRIFF?) and Allen VANDEGRAFF (VANDEGRIFF?). If you can help on

The 1850 census of Cannon Co., TN listed one Eli Barley age 50 born
in Georgia with a wife Elizabeth age 47 born in Virginia. Was this
really Bailey? Does anyone have info on this family? Thanks.

Searching for William (Willie) Kirk, born 12/13/1877,
possibly Warren Co. He married Ida Lee Hardin Sept. 12, 1898, Day
County,OK. Samuel A. Kirk is his father, born April 17
1844,Cannon Co.,Tn. to William Kirk. Samuel married Sallie Mullins
Webb 12/ 23/1876 in Warren Co.,Tn. Any info on Kirk family

Searching for the family of Early Lonis 'Earl' RIVERS. He was born
in Texas, Mar 13, 1922 and moved to Cannon Co, where he married Ila
J. Bell, bef. 1922. They had a daughter and he died a few months
later, Mar 13, 1922. He is buried in the Center Hill cemetery in
Cannon Co. I would appreciate any help. Thanks

Searching for info on my great-great-grandmother Cornelia
Ann McCABE. She was born March 31, 1846. She married my
great-great-grandfather James Hiram TODD Nov. 1, 1866, in Cannon Co.
TN. She died Feb. 1, 1922. This is all the information that I have on
her. My aunt believes that her mother's name was Cornelia as well and
may have been from Ireland, but I am not sure as to that last part.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am looking for information on a death date for Thomas Jefferson
EARP He was married to Liddie (GUEST) EARP. He was the son of
Jefferson and Martha (BROWN) EARP. Liddie was the daughter of John
Davis and Celia J. (MANKIN) GUEST. He had the following children,
William, Dervin, Ralph, James, Rebecca, Susan, and Martha Earp. Devin
was suppose to have married Tennie HARRELL. Ralph was suppose to have
married a women named Martha J. These families were located in Coffee
County TN and possible surrounding counties. Any info would be
appreciated. Spelling of name may vary.

Searching for any information on the folling families:
Robert BAILEY had bought land grants in Warren Co. starting in 1812. It
was later formed into Cannon Co. in 1836. His son, Vincent Bailey or
Robert Vincent married Martha E. STONE (daughter of William B. Stone).
They had 10 children, Robert Vinson b.1836 m.T. Parazade CUMMINGS 1855,
Mary A. Bailey b.1840, John G. Bailey b.1842, Francis M. Bailey b.1844
d.1863, Hugh L. Bailey b.1846, Joseph Bailey b. 1848, Jacob (Jake) Bailey
b.1850, Dillard Bailey b. 1854, Buck Bailey b. 1857. Vincent died around
1857/58 and Martha E. Stone-Bailey married a John D. CAMPBELL. I have
heard that they had two or three children, but cannot verify this info.
The eldest child, Robert (Bob) Vincent Bailey and wife T.Parazade
Cummings (daughter of William Cummings & Delphia Rains) had two children,
James B. Bailey b. 1857 and William Vincent Bailey b. 1859. James B. Bailey m. Nancy
Elizabeth COX in Cannon Co. in 1876. The had nine children. Adrian b.
1877 d.1879, Hattie b.1879 d.1914 in Quannah, Tx.,Inez b.1881 d. in
Ca.,Eliza b.1884 d. 1888 in Warren Co., Gracie b.1886 d.1887, Robert B.
b1888 (my ancestor) d.1947 in Tx., Claude B. b.1890 d.1966 in Tx., Effie
Mae b.1893 d.1895 and Joe D. b.1896 d.Tx. Nancy died around 1896 and
James married Margaret Leona PHELPS in 1899.
Most the children of James B. and Nancy moved to Texas after the fathers marriage
to Margaret. Later James B. and Margaret moved to Waco, Tx. area. James and
Margaret had 7 children. Any information on any of these family members would be
appreciated. Am willing to exchange info.

Hunting for parents of John McKNIGHT, b. TN July 4, 1857 (perhaps
Cannon Co?), d. Harrison Co (Cynthiana) , KY June 2, 1942. Married to
Katherine BOOTH, b. Aug 4, 1869 in Owen Co,KY, daughter of William
Booth and Martha Lumbkin, d. Cynthiana June 27, 1942. John and
Katherine were in South Monterey Precinct, Owen Co, KY in 1900, in
Lees Lick Pick, Harrison Co, KY in 1910. Children of John and
Katherine were Benjamin, Luther, James, William, Goldie, Cecil,
Lillie, and Grace. Does anyone know anything about any of these people?

My grandfather Thomas D FARMER was born in Woodbury, Cannon County,
1911. His fathers name was listed as Solon Nathan Farmer, I cannot
find information on his mothers name. If anyone has any knowledge of
this family or descends from this line, I would be happy to hear from
you. There were reported eleven siblings. I need verification on
Solon's first name.
