Samuel and Olive [Douglas]Sloane. She d. in (???), 21 June, 1841. He d. in Williamstown, Mass.,Nov., 1830. He was a lawyer; was justice of the peace in Williamstown,Mass., for a great many years and represented the town of Lanesboro inthe Massachusetts legislature in the years 1786-87-88-89-90-91-92-93-94.When he died he left $1,000 to the Williamstown College; this is calledthe 'Starkweather fund.' His daughter, Mary, left $2,500 and her husband,Homer Bartlett, left $5,000 to this same fund, the interest of which isto be divided among indigent students of the college.
