Our cats are Feline Leukemia Negative.

JG Whiskerz is owned by my wife & I.  My name is Glenn Viveiros and my wife's name is Jennifer.  We are a small cattery located in McDonough, Georgia that strives to produce healthy kittens that maintain the CFA standard for the Devon Rex breed.  Our kittens are raised underfoot and are very much a part of our family so that when they are available for placement they will fit well into most family settings.  Although we are just beginning as an official cattery, we do have experience breeding and raising CFA pedigreed cats.  20 years ago we kept and bred Himalayans.  After a couple of years of breeding our human family began to expand so we had our breeders fixed and they remained our loving family pets for the next 17 years. 

We found ourselves becoming more interested in the breeding aspect of cats again in 2010, mostly because my wife was very interested in showing in the CFA shows.  However, my wife had been breeding and showing betta fish over the last 6 years.  So instead of purchasing and showing a cat that someone else had bred and raised, the fish breeder in her wanted to pick out our own "breeders" that we could produce our own show worthy kittens from.  So began the search for what breed we were going to get this time.  Since our family now consisted of 4 children ranging in age from 21 to 3 year old twins (and three shelter adopted cats) we wanted to be sure to get a breed that would fit in well with our family.  We knew almost instantly when we came across the Devon Rex that this was going to be the breed that we were looking for.  Smart, quirky and very low maintenance for grooming.  And so JG Whiskerz was born!

After getting our feet wet with the breed, we began to seek out other reputable breeders to work with.  We have developed a relationship with Janice Daines (DazzleMeCatz) in Washington and Robin Robertson (Devine Devons) in Arizona.  We are now working exclusively with these two breeders.  Janice & Robin are mentoring us as we go and we are fortunate to gleen information from their experience.  We could not have asked for better mentors than these two wonderful breeders!  Our goal is to one day produce Devons as beautiful as the ones that come from these two breeders.

Our stud, BUG comes from DazzleMeCatz.  He is a Silver MacTabby and currently holds a Champion title and is working toward his Grand Champion.  We have a future Queen (Molly) that comes from MeiKai cattery/breeder Doug Schmidt.  Molly is Black and will soon be attending her first show in the open classes.

After our first show experience we decided that we needed MUCH more information and experience with this breed and we joined the DRBC (Devon Rex Breed Club).  This is where we met our mentors and hope to be able to make new acquaintances and help the Devon breed with the wealth of knowledge that this breed club offers.

Although we will not be offering all of our kittens for sale, all of the kittens and cats that we offer will have all of their age appropriate vaccinations and worming before they leave for their new homes.  We will not let any kitten go prior to being 16 weeks of age.  Every kitten will have a CONTRACT and come with a complete health record for your vet.  Please feel free to browse the site and do not hesitate to contact us with any questions.  For convenience we accept credit cards and cash.
