Volume of Torment

Loviatar is the Goddess of Vengeance, Pain and Disease.  Loviatar’s religion is often misunderstood. Many think those who worship the Goddess are masochistic and enjoy nothing but torture and inflicting pain upon themselves and others. This is not the basis of her religion. Although Loviatar enjoys the pain that is inflicted, her religion teaches us to use our pain, to embrace it and not fear it.

Pain is a powerful force, one that if not controlled would lead to the destruction of ourselves. Loviatar teaches us to take the suffering that is life and apply it, as fuel, for Vengeance upon the world. The Goddess understands that everything returns to pain. Life is pain, and you learn to control it and turn it against your enemies. Your foe will fear you when they realize you can turn the pain they have inflicted back upon them, with twice the force. Everyone fears pain, it is the only thing that hurts us, after all.

Pain always teaches us a lesson. We never forget what has caused us agony. We learn from it, and the more you seek out those things that create pain, and the more misery youanoint others with, you will come to the realization that pain is a powerful learning experience. The key to inflicting pain upon others is seeking out their weakness. Finding what your foe holds most dear and then revealing to them the misery of loss. Only strike when the time is right. You wait for your moment, whether it be years or days or simply an instant. You wait for the perfect time to exact Vengeance and then do so with no reserve. Take the pain of life and the past grievances you have with the world and focus it all upon the foe to whom you are dealing justice. Make each and every person feel the full wrath of Vengeance. Do no try to justify or balance what they have done with the torment you inflict upon their being. Express all the suffering, lash for lash, cut for cut. Illuminate your foe on the teachings of Loviatar.

 Those who survive the tests of such anguish and suffering will grow in knowledge and perseverance. The Goddess of Suffering will except those who will spread sorrow to the world around them, bring melancholy to a place of joy. Light and love, it is an illusion that blinds people to the true path. Life is pain and everything will return to the desolation and torment of existence. Do not be bedazzled by the teachings of those who would lie to you and teach you that life is anything other than agony and suffering. That is why our Goddess has given Vengeance to the world. She understands that the power of Vengeance will allow you to express your inner torment upon Threshold. To show those around you the lessons of life and to ensure they do not forget what they are taught. Your foe must live to see his folly and know the disgrace of his defeat. Killing, that is feeble, one note, while the screams and shrieks of your adversary will echo throughout and make wondrous music. Murder is wearisome, while plaguing your foe with eternal desolation brings the true ecstasy of life. 

Loviatar immensely enjoys creating a dangerous disease and releasing it into the world. The Goddess loves to watch a sickness move across the land and infect organisms with pain and suffering. The infection is unbiased. It slowly destroys the host and then meets out vengeance to those that the host comes into contact with. Spreading across the land, it creates a miasma of misery and melancholy. Disease reminds you of the power of Pain. It affects all, whether you feel the pain of loss or the agony of the affliction, you are filled with hopelessness and the anguish of despair. Disease will remind all men that they are mortal and guide you to a better life. Those who are the strong shall survive and grow stronger with experience. Loviatar’s teachings are a way of life. Know that everything returns to pain. Eventually you will feel the power of Vengeance and the justice it provides, you will utilize your pain and place fear in your enemy. It is the reality of existence. The teachings of Loviatar will show thee the way, and allow you to feel the bliss and rapture of tribulations.
