Buck died in February 1894 just a month before J. B.,Jr. was born. Buckwas buried in Garland Cemetery south of Annona, Texas. J. B. Jr. wasstruck by lightening and died in 1899 and his dates are on same tombstoneas his fathers.
In 1895 Alice married Jeff, whose wife had died and left him with Joe,Jess and Henry.
They bought some land from her brother in law Charlie Medford but sold itback to him one year later. A few years later Charlie bought some fromJeff just east of Avery.
Jeff was a farmer, graded cotton for several companies. Jeff died in 1905 and buried in English, by his first wife. Someone triedto make arrangements to put the children in Masonic Orphans Home but shewould not agree to it. Jeff's sons helped and someway they made it.
Joe, Jeff's son, went out to Lubbock and entered into partnership with aMr. Humphries and got the Piggly Wiggly franchise in Lamesa, later inSeminole and maybe other towns also. Later Lawrence and Hugh went toLubbock also, but I know Hugh did not get into the grocery chain as hewas connected some way in the oil business and got quite wealthy. Danwent out later after his marriage and ran the Piggly Wiggly Store atLamesa.
