Despite attempts at disguise, a trained graphologist can identify similarities in handwriting samples that are admissable as evidence in court. Character analysis based on these findings is not considered reliable as evidence, but it is well-founded in theory. The handwriting characteristics are a form of body language. It is the interpretation of the analyst that is subject to error. Whether this is "divination" or not is an open question.
