LAMP is an acronym for Linux - Apache - MySQL - PHP. Although Amazon doesn't have a category for LAMP, they do have categories for each of the component technologies. Taken together, they comprise an extremely capable and robust web-server platform. Because these components are open-source (free) they make for an extremely cost-effective solution, which is widely in use. Support for the open source components of LAMP is excellent, although it takes a different form than commercial tech support.
Other "flavors" of *NIX can be substituted for Linux, notably BSD
