Welcome everyone! I am so excited that you are visiting our class website. I am grateful to be teaching 5th grade at Martinez Elementary School this year. We are going to have so much fun learning so many cool, new things! This will be my second year at MES, and I am looking forward to seeing my returning 4th graders as well as many new faces. Through my college career I have been lucky enough to work with many wonderful children of all ages. I attended the University of Georgia where I obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Child and Family Development/Early Childhood Education in 2007. In addition to my Bachelor's degree, I have an endorsement in Math as well as a technology certificate. After graduating, I finished out the 2007-2008 school year teaching in a first grade and a third grade classroom as a long term substitute. I enjoyed this opportunity so much as it gave me valuable experience. I hope to pursue my masters degree very soon. I love spending time with my family, which consists of my parents, two older brothers, a sister-in-law, a niece and nephew, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents. We always get together any chance we get. Family is one of the things I value most in life. I love to learn, to be outside, and I love animals, but most of all I love cooking and the Georgia Bulldogs! I am a huge football fan! I want my students' parents to know that I promote a sense of community in my classroom. I want each child to feel that our classroom is a safe and comfortable environment where he or she can respect and be respected. Each student is encouraged to express and be themselves each and everyday. This year I will be your child's Science teacher and the Language Arts teacher for my homeroom. Get ready to Rock and Roll this year!
