Lonely Dagger

Lonely dagger
Stab me deep
Loved one's souls
I swore to keep
Watch me dance
Watch me sway
As I take
Their smiles away
Lift me up
Beat me down
Give me thorns,
A broken crown
Watch the blood
Flow like tears
No more doubts
No more fears
Lonely dagger
Fly away
Lift this plague
From me I pray
Give me smiles
Give me sighs
Just a pair
Of blue grey eyes

God give me rest
For now I sleep
I pray the scars
Won't be too deep
And if they are
Then let me see
Just how much
They sorrow thee
Hurt me now
Bow me down
Look not upon
My sweaty brow
But you will not
This I know
For my heart
It tells me so
You will lift
Me once again
I will not drown
I'll only swim
So give me faith
And clear my doubt
My time is not
Yet running out

Lonely dagger
Be thee free
For the purpose
Intended thee
Come not near
My bleeding heart
Turn away from
The lonely dark
And my friends
I hope they see
How the darkness
Covers me
But deep inside
I will not fright
For deep within
A burning light
Will burn so bright
That they will see
The light inside
Blinds even me...
