| At the very end of the navigable
Llangollen canal is the wonderful Welsh town of Llangollen.
Llangollen is a town alive with color, music, and activities.
The main street of town is a delight for those on the crew whom
gather provisions, window shop, or otherwise work at ways to support
the local economy!
Among the local activities is a restored railway excursion
between the town of Llangollen and the small, but wonderful village
of Carrog. Depending on the daily schedule, the excursion
train may be driven by a classic steam engine or a quiet
diesel. When there say hello to Dewi the train operator and
the crew!

Llangollen Wharf
is quite near the end of the navigable Llangollen for the
large powered canal boat, however, a horse drawn small
narrowboat provides a quite and slow paced trip further up the
Dee Valley. The Wharf building also houses a restaurant
with bar and the original
horse stables. (1999) |
