When PPIR was first started in 1988, we met at various
restaurants/bars. Everyone simply met, paid for their own food and/or drink,
and networked. There were no dues, memberships, committees, nor formalities.
The attendees consisted or those in the Real Estate and Construction
industries, or those who provided services to these industries.
Since budget cuts have hampered many businesses from
“hosting” the larger PPIR/PPO events, I have brought back the original format;
thus it is called “Classic” PPIR.
These will be held during those months whenever a host
sponsor has not been secured for the larger PPIR/PPO events. Those invited
to “Classic” PPIR are only those involved with their local board of Realtors as
agents or affiliates.
The smaller format of 50-100 people has allowed PPIR to
expand into those markets surrounding the Gainesville/Alachua county market
area. Target locations are
All that is needed to produce a “Classic” PPIR is a location
that serves food and adult beverages, plus sponsorship equaling $250.00 to
cover the promotional fee. This is usually accomplished by obtaining at least 5
- $50 sponsorships. Sponsors are mentioned in all promotion of the event, their
logo is placed on the logo display board at the event, and the sponsor is
giving 2 minutes on the microphone which is provided.
The venue for a “Classic” PPIR can be a Realtor Open house,
a new office opening, grand openings, ribbon cuttings, or other similar event,
as long as food and drink are provided for up to 100 people. In this case a $200
fee is paid by the Realtor or the office hosting the event. A public address
system and 5 minutes of microphone time is provided to this sponsor.
Optionally music designed specifically for a networking
environment can be provided at the event for an additional $50-100.
