When you're born out of step and there's no redemption,
Half the time it's a blessing, the other half a curse.
You always walk alone, defying all convention,
but you have your moments, it could be worse.

There's no explanation, why should you have to?
Sometimes you question, then again you don't care.
Loved ones are kind, friends try to understand.
You can't get too close, it wouldn't be fair.

It's nobody's fault, least of all yours,
Life deals you a hand, you fold or you play.
You win some, and lose some, maybe break even,
and maybe get the last laugh, life's funny that way!
