Peter Wagon - This appeared in Orangeburgh German-Swiss Genealogical Society Newsletter, June 1996, Volume 6, Number 3:
    "Peter WAGNON

    Peter WAGNON appears in the 1790 Census, p. 83, in Pendleton District, SC, with two males under sixteen and one female.

    In 'Pendleton District, SC. Deeds, 1790-1806', compiled by Bety Willie (Easley, SC: Southern Historical Press. 1982), there are John, Mark and Peter WAGNON. John WAGNON had 470 acres land on the South side of the Saluda River surveyed for him before 1786, but it had been granted to James Millwee in 1786. (p. 135).

    Peter WAGNON sold land on Big Beaverdam Creek of the Tugaloo River in 1798. His mark was called by the compiler (his "fancy L" mark). It was no doubt a Swiss "P". (p. 184).

    He witnessed a deed for a horse on 12 Dec. 1801. (p. 287).

    On 9 August 1805, Peter was testating witness to a deed from Portwood to Vandiver. (p. 372).

    Last and best, on 6 Mar. 1807, Benjamin Johnson sold to Peter WAGNON and Thomas Davis, for $800., 245 a. on the Tugaloo River, bordered by Hatten's Ford, Fleek, Greer formerly Capt. David Sloan Wit. Robert Johnson and Mark WAGNON. Mark sw. 13 Mar. 1807. (p. 422)."
