My Wagnon's are from Arkansas. My Great great great grandfather John WAGNON was born in Alabama 1819, married in Mississippi then on the way to the gold rush, broke an axle in Ark., decided he liked it, and stayed. If you have any info or possibly hale from John Wagnon, email me and I'll send you more info if you want. Oh, the name is Dutch from a region close to Switzerland. There are still Wagnon's there.
Searching for the parents & wife of Peter WAGNON b.c.1765 d.1843 St.Clair Co., Alabama. He was located in the 1790-1810 Pendleton Co. Ninety-six Dist. S.C. Then in 1820 he is in St. Clair Co. AL census along with his oldest son Daniel WAGNON. Peter had the following children: Daniel m. Mary ? ; John m. Nancy KING; George; Mary m. Robert BROWN; Peter m. Dorcas WILLIAMS; Sarah m. Absolum MITCHELL; Margaret m. William WALKER; and Bailous m. Elizabeth LAFLORE. My ancestor was Daniel, who was listed as deceased in Peter Wagnon's estate settlement 1846 in St.Clair Co. AL. It mentions the heirs of Daniel as Anna DAVIS, John R., Peter R., Daniel and Mary Elizabeth. They moved to Bradley Co. Ark. I also ned information on Daniel Wagnon b.c.1790 d. by 1846. Who did he marry, when and where did he die? Thanks!
Can anyone tell me the names of the children of the Rev. War Soldier Thomas WAGNON b. 1727 d. 1810 who married Frances VAUGHN. My ancestor Peter Wagnon bc.1765 would be the right age to be his son. Thanks.
My great grandmother was Mary Molly WAGNON, b. 1865 Texas, d. 1917 Grimes County, Texas. She married Hugh SMOOT in 1882 and some of their children were: Edna Smoot b. abt 1883, Dan Smoot abt 1884, Archie Smoot (my grandmother) b. 1888, Oliver Smoot b. 1891, Gwin? b. 1894 and possibly some others. The census shows (if we can believe it!) that her father and mother were born in Texas.( In a family picture taken about 1910, there was a lady who looked about 80 years old and she was called Grandma MOORE. None of my aunts and uncles knew who she was because they were babies at the time.) I've had a hard time connecting back to my great grandmother's parents. If anyone has any information, I would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks so much.
