112. James C.⁵ Rice (Clarissa⁴ Cave, Thomas³, William², Robert¹) was born in Macoupin Co, IL December 28, 1831. James died July 5, 1911 in Topeka, KS, at 79 years of age.

He married twice. He married Prudence S. Agard before 1854. Prudence was born in NY 1832. Prudence died June 4, 1874 in KS, at 41 years of age. He married Mrs Mary W. Stamp in KS, January 20, 1876.

James C. Rice and Prudence S. Agard had the following family:

281 i. Mary E.⁶ Rice. Mary died 1854 in IL.

282 ii. Richard Newton Rice was born in Macoupin Co, IL December 4, 1855. Richard died May 9, 1915 in Shawnee Co, KS, at 59 years of age. He married Julia Ellen Bartley about 1877. Julia was born in Champaign Co, IL July 18, 1857. Julia died July 1, 1931 in Shawnee Co, KS, at 73 years of age.

283 iii. Lyle Rice was born in IL 1861.

284 iv. James Rice was born in IL 1865.

285 v. Mollie M. Rice was born 1870. Mollie died 1877 in KS, at 7 years of age.

James C. Rice and Mrs Mary W. Stamp had the following family:

286 vi. Surry (Lulu) Rice was born in KS 1878.

287 vii. Violce Rice was born in KS 1882.
