Garst Bros. Dairy Bottles

The first bottles from Garst Bros. Dairy still had Spring Hollow, the dairy the brothers bought, embossed on them. There were only a few bottles released with both names. These were round glass-embossed, no orange pyro bottles. The Spring Hollow name was dropped and then it was just "Garst" that was embossed on the glass. Approximately in 1940 orange pyro was introduced and this is when variety took off. Now milk bottles could be unique and the messages changed frequently. In the mid to late 1950's square bottles were introduced with the Garst logo (without the cow). Approximately 1960 the dairy went with paper cartons, but few remain, as the dairy was sold in 1961.

The following is an archive of the bottles. If you have a picture of bottles not found here, please email it to me. Also, if you know of an apporoximate (or exact) date a bottle was released please let me know. Thank you!

There were only a few "front" graphics used, so for simplicity these are shown below.
