Penney stores in the Jacksonville area at The Avenues, Regency Square, and Orange Park malls and a four store in a region shopping center on Dunn Avenue. They also operates 36 drugstores in Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, and St. Johns counties but none have been targeted for closure.

This front page article announced the surprise split of what was Northeast Florida's largest health systems. After a 4 1/2 year merger Baptist and St. Vincent's the two hospital will separate and act independently in their strategic direction and decisions. The split is reported as not occurring for financial or business reason. Official state there will be little impact on patient services.
