b: May 2, 1995 red fawn with black mask and white toes
9/29/97 - Just heard from Copper's breeders that he got 4th place on Sunday at the CWA races Oct 27 & 28 to pick up that last 2 pts he needed for his ARX!! Yippeee!! AND - he finished the requirements for his TRP! Copper is my FIRST race titled dog.
At the AMUCK Nighthound Lure Trial on Friday, July 5th, 1996 Copper got to run as test dog. He didn't do well at all - stopped after the first turn! They ran another dog as test and her owner allowed me to run Copper with her and he did MUCH better. He did watch her a little, but he also kept track of the bunny and came in and dove on it at the end. Maybe he just needs a little competition to get fired up! (See Edsel's, Baldy's, and Slick's pages for more about the trial) 10/7/96 - got back last night from the GOGLCA ASFA lure trial. Copper got to run as test dog both days and it was VERY encouraging! He *shot* off the start like he really meant it - maybe there's hope for this boy yet! I'm pleased and proud to announce that Copper is now pre-qualified to run in ASFA lure trials! All of a sudden, in just the last few weeks he's showing tremendously increased interest and intensity in catching that bunny - there's hope for the guy yet! 3/19/96 - Copper is now about half way to his ASFA FCh. He has 3 seconds. He ran in the Maury County TN field trial in Feb and got tied for 1st one day, but lost the runoff. FLASH! - At the National Specialty in Atlanta Copper took 4th in the Novice class! (check out Bandit's page to see how HE did!) Copper has been at his breeder's in Wisconsin since the National Specialty, learning racing. He went to his first CWA races over Memorial Day Weekend and was 7th on Saturday and missed sharing the ARX points by only *1* racing point! On Sunday he tied for 7th with a dog that already had his ARX title, so Copper got his first ARX points - 4 of 'em! Only 11 more to go. Copper went racing again June 14-15 and missed getting more ARX points by only *1/2* a point! His breeder says he's learning to break out of the box faster and he did win a couple of races. If he keeps this up he might even move up to grade A! Copper raced again July 5/6 - he didn't do well on Saturday, came in tied for 13th. But on Sunday he had a great day! He *won* 2 of his races AND got *1st* in the fun match! In racing he tied with litter brother Dash and another dog for 4th place and picked up 2 more ARX points. Also, his litter sister Pinky got first in the fun match on Saturday and litter brother Dash came in 5th in racing and picked up 4 ARX points. What a great family weekend! Copper went racing over Labor Day Weekend and *cleaned up* - he ended up tied for 4th on Saturday and picked up *5* ARX points! WOW!! Then on Sunday he won his first race and got moved to Hi Point, where he stayed for the rest of the day. He finally ended up 6th overall and picked up 2 more ARX points. He now has 13 - only 2 more to go. And his brother Dash now has 14 ARX points with only 1 to go. WAY TO GO GUYS! 9/6/97 - Just heard from Copper's breeders that he went ASFA lure coursing today and got a *1st place* and 36 points - that gives him all the requirements for his Field Championship!! Yippeee!! 4/7/98 - Copper went to the Chattonooga shows and got BOW on Sat for 1 pt and got WD on Sun for 1 pt 5/9 - Copper finished his Companion Racer title at the WRA races in VA |
