This is my page to post various records for my Tennessee families.
All records are taken from documented sources: newspapers, published books and certificates of birth, marriage or death from the Tennessee State Archives located in Nashville.
The Cemetery records I transcribed from tombstones during annual visits back home over the years. I will be creating a separate page for my Illinois and Pennsylvania families as time permits.
Please come back often to see if any of my family might
be your family!

From Tennesseans in the War of 1812, by Byron Sistler: Introduction: "Almost all the men herein, were involved in actual campaigning, served in the Creek War of 1813-14 (a subconflict of the War of 1812) or in the New Orleans campaign...Ironically, most deaths of Tennesseans were the result of an apparent epidemic of some unknown malady after the war was over, in the late winter and spring of 1815. History books do not seem to mention this epidemic but a perusal of service records clearly reveals its existence."
My 4th great grandfather:
SADLER, Thomas PVT., Col. William Metcalf, Captain Andrew
Patterson, Militia Infantry, died 8 February 1815, after the Battle of
Chalmette, Louisiana.
