We rang in 2008 on a short Carnival cruise
to the Bahamas. One of the stops was in Key West, where we spent the
day shopping and drinking..... and drinking.... and drinking..... and
...... well you get the idea.
As we walked by Irish
Kevin's Pub, a little boy handed me a rubber chicken - it was
connected to a rope - connected to a large fishing pole and next
thing we knew we had been reeled in - literally!! I mean come on, the
other people in the bar were chanting Reel Them In, Reel Them
In.... what else could we do?
We had a smashing
(smashed?) good time because the performer on stage was a
true artist that kept the audience totaly involved as part of the
show, on stage & off.

When
he found out it was Nick's birthday, he coerced Nick (yes shy Nick)
onstage & after they chugged a pint of Guiness, he dared Nick to run
next door to Sloppy Joe's with the rubber chicken taped to his head &
if he could come back with a book of matches in under a minute, he'd buy
the audience a round of beer. So off sprints a very drunk Nick
(many birthday tequila shots had been consumed by then) through the crowed
streets with a rubber chicken on his head.

Now this guy was a great performer, but he
wasn't stupid, even though Nick made it in 56 seconds by our watch, his
watch must have been fast because he claimed it was 1 minute & 3
seconds... guess he never figured someone could consume that
much alcohol & still find not only the restaurant next door, but
his way back. Although the audience didn't get free drinks
.... Nick got several more rounds of birthday shots from all the
impressed .... shucks... just what he needed. LOL
