Do you allow customers to choose music?
YES. You may submit to me in advance a general “taste” of music that you would like played for your guests. I also accept songs to play or not play. Most of this will be discussed during our first consultation.
Do you allow requests at the events?
Absolutely. Some DJ’s will not take requests during live events, but I am more than happy to do so. I believe in extreme customer service and it is my goal to make you and your guests happy.
Do you have professional equipment?
Yes. There is a difference between the sound equipment you use at home and equipment that is used during a live event. Professional equipment is made to be durable and is generally much more expensive than home stereo equipment. I use JBL speakers and Behringer Ep2500 amps amongst other pieces of equipment.
How much experience do you have?
I have been DJ’ing for about two years now. I have experience in weddings, proms and parties.. I am constantly learning how to make my job better for you.
Are you insured?
Yes. I carry liability insurance. You should always use a DJ that goes through the trouble of being insured for peace of mind.
How do you dress for events?
I always dress based upon how the customer wants me to dress. It could be a suit, tuxedo, or casual clothes. Weddings would definitely be tuxedo or suit.
Do you have backup equipment?
I carry at all times a backup amp and fuses. Even though I have professional equipment, it can still fail. This is your event so rest assured I will do all I can to make sure equipment failure doesn’t ruin your party.
How far do you travel and do you charge anything for travel?
I am local to the Jacksonville, FL area and will travel anywhere within a 50 mile radius without any extra charges. This includes the cities of Orange Park,Middleburg Callahan, St Augustine, and Jacksonville Beach. Travel rates will apply for anything beyond the 50 miles.
What type of event do you do?
I do all types of events. I specialize in weddings, dance parties and school proms. I have a nice lighting show that accommodates dances and proms very nicely. I also have an extensive collection of dance and alternative music. I can also do bar and bat mitzvah’s, corporate events and of course all types of parties.
Do you have any recommendations?
Yes, please see my section on the home page called Testimonials
Can I come “watch” you perform at a live event?
No. Unfortunately it is bad etiquette to allow potential clients to come to a private party and view how I work. If it is a public event, then that would be different.
Do you provide lighting?
Yes I have a lighting package available for dances or parties. Please see my prices section for associated charges. I can also provide lighting for a wedding if requested.
What time do you arrive at an event?
I will arrive 1 hour prior to event to set up. I will also stay up to 1 hr after each event. If you want me any earlier, then charges may apply for the time.
Do you provide a microphone for your events?
Yes. If you request it in advance, I can have a wireless microphone available for your ease of use.
Do you provide wedding reception planning?
Included in my overall price of wedding receptions is planning and coordinating. It takes coordination between the wedding party, DJ, and caterer to provide a quality reception. I will sit down with you at a future consultation and help you plan out your reception. From wedding party names, to Father/Daughter dance, it is all very important to me that you completely trust me to take care of every detail of your reception so you can enjoy the time with your new spouse and your valued guests.
Do I get a written contract for my event?
A big yes. You should not do business with a DJ or anyone else, for that matter, that does not agree to give you a written contract with event info and final price on it. Please look over and bring, if possible, a signed copy of the contract to our initial meeting. The contract can be obtained from the home page under contract link
Who will be my DJ at the event?
Currently, I am the only DJ for Dan’s Mobile DJ Services. My name is Daniel Gamble, and I will occasionally bring an assistant for larger events.
Do you require a down payment?
Yes. In order to help with my calendar, I do require a 25% deposit upon contract signing time.
How do I hire you?
Typically, after you make contact with me via phone or email, I will set up a person to person consultation with you at a place of your choosing. At the consultation, items will be discussed such as what you expect out of your DJ and what type of music you want played. If you think you would like to go with me, I will give you a contract signed by both of us and I will require a non-refundable 25% deposit payment to secure your date. The deposit will be applied toward your final payment. I require final payment no later than 3 days prior to your event. I accept cash or check at this time
Can I pay you by credit card?
At this time, no. Credit card payments will soon be allowed!
Why do I need a DJ at my event?
There are a number of reasons, but to help you out I will list a few:
- Professional equipment and sound
- Thousands of established ‘legal’ songs to play
- Your party is now taken care of and you can simply enjoy being with your guests
- Requires a smaller footprint to set up in than a full band
