It's been a long time since I updated this website and I figure it's about time to move forward.
2007 was an interesting and busy year for me and my wife.
In March, I had weight loss surgery. Weighing in at 393lbs. I had to do something. Of course after having that surgery, you have to learn to eat all over again. At this point I've lost over 150lbs. and things seem to be going well, I pray it continues to go well.
In July, I traveled to Florida for my 30th high school reunion. That was a blast. It's amazing how everyone seems to be getting older...I guess it's because we are. It was funny how that I recognized very few people and yet almost everyone recognized me! It was very fun to reunite with a number of my old friends, but was saddened to learn of the number of classmates that have passed away. It just goes to show how fragile life is.
A few days after arriving home from the Florida trip, I caught a plane to Green Bay, WI., to help my friend Perry, with his computer. Perry lives in Menominee, MI., and this was the first time that I was able to travel up there in the summer. What a difference a season makes. I knew that it's was pretty up there in the spring and summer, but it's been years since I've been there in the summer months. I guarantee it's very cold in Menominee in the winter.
September came with my wife and myself traveling to
Philadelphia to visit with my sister and brother-in-law. We had a great time visiting with them and going to see Amish country. We always have a great time together, just wish we could do it more.
October and December came with two quick trips to Mt. Hope Bible Camp near Forbestown, California. I've had the
privilege of volunteering at Mt. Hope for a number of years and I still have a heart for that ministry. I help maintain their computers and website and the first trip had been planned for some time. The second trip was a result of a server crash...at least no data was lost.
We had a good Christmas that was topped of by a visit from Carolyn and Chrys of Clovis, California. We had a good time exploring southeast Louisiana, taking a short riverboat cruise and visiting a plantation home. I guess one down side of their trip (for Chrys at least) was the fact that there are quite a few bridges in Louisiana, and some of them are pretty long...Chrys isn't fond of bridges...
Over all, 2007 was a pretty good year for us and the Lord continued to pour out His blessings upon us.
As 2008 has rolled in upon us, I was surprised and thrilled when I received an unexpected email. My childhood best friend, Randy, ran across my profile on one of those classmate finder websites. He didn't know if the profile was of the same person he knew as a kid, but took the chance and sent me a message through that website. It has been a real joy to reconnect with him. Hopefully, it won't be too long before we'll be able to get together.
2008 is shaping up to be another busy year for me and my wife, so please keep us in your prayers. I will try to do a better job of maintaining this site...not that it gets a lot of visitors, but for those who do, it's nice to see something new once-in-awhile.
In the meantime, may the Lord bless you and your loved ones.
