I wanted to give the interior a bit more of a finished look, so I got some material that matched the dash, and put some padded insulation on the transmission cover.  This gives that part more of a padded feel.  I'll probably use a silver carpet, so this will give a nice contrast in the cockpit. 

After putting 300 miles on the car, I started to do the bodywork.  This is the beginning of the sand/fill/sand/fill routine.

I started out by sanding the seams down with a grinder and then used my dremel tool to dig out the gelcoat in the body.

 

I taped off the seams so the West Systems Resin/Hardner mix didn't run all over the place. 

Here you can see the first coat right after application.  This is intended to seal the area where the gelcoat was removed.  Once it started to set, I removed the tape.
