Wow, there's a really long story leading up to actually getting the archives working. It all started with the template I used having an outdated tag for the links. Then... a bunch of stuff happened, but now it works. The end. They're not using the style sheet, though... grrr...
You know, most the dates on my posts are misleading. For one, I forgot to change the time for DST, so they've all been off since it started. Also, if you look at the time, you'll see that I make most of the about 2 hours into the day. That's why the Oct. 31st post had no Halloween references, like...
Cat's costume! She was Napster's girlfriend! It's was sooo cuuuute! She had little cat ears and makeup, and a reallly big set of headphones! Check out the pic!
Well, I finally got call from EB the other day, and interviewed today. I'll be the 3rd key at a new store that's opening super-close to my house. Every job I've had, I ended up getting the job at a new store that wasn't even done. All three of them :) Walgreens, EB, and now EB again. I had a job before Walgreens, but that lasted about two weeks becuase the DM didn't like that the assistant manager was going to be my borther-in-law, so that doesn't count. Neither does my brief stint as a web designer's assistant.
It's a strip store, so that means lunch isn't going to be as close as at the mall, and sales will be harder becuase there'll be a lot less traffic. But it also means more hardcore gamers, because it's a place you have to go out of your way to get to, whereas the mall people go to for all sorts of things, and they'll stop by while they're at the mall for something else. There'll probably be less thieving ace teenagers, but it's by a TRU, which means more annoying pre-teens. I hate kids. If you're talking to someone, they're completely oblivious to that fact. I even had a brother and sister come in once, and they would ask me two different questions at the exact same time. It blew my mind. I would say they did it just to piss me off, but seemed totally clueless.
High-schoolers today are entirely too tempting. The clothes they wear are just so... like whoa. They look so Britney and Christina. Walking around the mall, it's like jailbait all around me. We didn't have hot girls like that in my high school. They were mostly ghetto and ignorant of anything other than black culture. Same with the guys. I asked someone their IQ once and they said "3.87". Wow. You know what? That sound about right :P No, she was a nice girl, though.
I see girls about 8 years old wearing some too-short shorts sometimes. I just wanna grab their parents, shake them, and yell, "What the hell are you thinking???" Then they wanna know why they grow up so skanky. Why does an 8 year old need to show midriff? Who are they trying to hook? Maybe they have single moms who know that boyfriends of single moms with young kids are child molestors a lot of the time. They use their kids to get a man who just wants to get the kid. There's some people out there who seriously need to be shot.
I got Morrowind! What an emotional roller coaster. I first see it set for release in March, and it's set for Oct. 15. I expected it to change, but it stayed the same for months. Then about a week before, it gets changed to the 21st. Then the 27th. Then Nov. 5. Then on Oct 30, GameSpot posts a story saying it's shipped! At about 2 AM on Oct. 31, I check the EB site, and it says SHIPS TODAY. Then about 4 PM, the EB site says NEW RELEASE. I called the store, but they didn't have it. Finally, I got a call at noon on Nov. 1 saying it came, and I picked it up afer my interview. Of course, after all that, I just don't feel as exicted as I should when playing it. But it's got enough gameplay to keep me occupied for a while. Don't know how long I can hold out on NFS Underground, though.
Found the problem with the archives and styles sheets. As I deduced, the code was just telling it to go up a folder to find the style sheet. But the archives are in a subfolder of the blog folder, so it would need to go up TWO folders to get at the sheet. I can move the archives into the same folder, or I can make the link to the style sheets absolute rather than relative. I choose the latter. Hey Karen, you taught me something. I never paid attention to the two dots DW was always making before. I probably woulda never made the connection to the old DOS navigation, and been stuck with ugly archives, so thanks.
