Champions of Norrath
Yet another hack and slash. I love 'em. Brought to you by Snowblind, the devs who worked on the original Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance. So far, it's a tad harder than BG1 and way harder than BG2. Like Fallout, the interface is mostly a reskinned BG interface with a new font. The inventory is very Diablo, though. The skills are handled through a branching tree. The ground and walls have polygons. Gamespot thinks it's bump-mapping, but they thought there was no way to turn fast in Gunvalkyrie. They are made of polygons; you can see your character going up and down on the bumpy parts of the ground. Feels more solid, too. Feels like you're cutting into flesh. Framerate isn't silky smooth as BG, but it's not bad. I'm playing a barbarian who look just like Mr. T. Dark skin, mohawk, same beard.
I also played Batman: Rise of Sin Tzu. It was pretty good. Really repetitous, but that was the only real flaw. For $20, I'll get it. Better than Ninja Turtles.
Played Unreal II. Mediocre. Jerky animations, framerate isn't much better than Unreal Championship. I'd get it for $20 when I have extra money to spend and nothing else to buy. Which I will soon hopefully, with my new job.
I'm using WindowBlinds. It's cool.
