The Old Cemetery
I knew that by myself this year I could never get everything done that I wanted to. Luckily I have a mom who is an artist AND for once has some spare time on her hands. So I went and bought her a 10' x 4' sheet of basic white insulation styrofoam at Home Depot and cut her loose.
The designs are all hers and I just helped her with a few ideas and a little painting and finishing.
Many thanks go out to her for her excellent work!!!!
Obviously it all starts with some foam! |
Our local Home Depot didn't have the pink insulating foam that many home haunters use, so I used the foam that was available- a 10' x 4' x 2" sheet. |
I gave my mom some basic ideas and then let her creativity run wild! |
There's no real 'meaning' to most of the stones. We tried to avoid the usual amusing epitaphs and went more for a ecclectic look. |

Tarps were laid all over the deck as to avoid as much spillage as possible. |
All the stones were basecoated in gray latex housepaint and allowed to try for quite some time. |

While she did some hand detailing on the tombstones, I aged most of them using alternating white and black spray paint. |
Some other projects being worked on at the same time! |
For one of her effects, Great Stuf foam was drizzled out of the cracks in one stone and later painted red and bloody. |
