The goal is to change the 'standing' pose of Iron Man to a 'flying' pose. This will require bending the right knee, moving the left leg at the hip, raising the left arm and tilting the head back. To change the position of the pose cut wedges from the joints that you wish to reposition. Drill a hole into the center of the cut joint and use a 1/8" aluminum wire to ‘bridge the gap’. The joint can then be bent or straightened, at the wire, to the desired pose. I made cuts to the right knee, left hip and ankle, the left shoulder and the head. The pic shows the new 'flying up' pose. The majority of the cut joint is filled in with 5 minute plumber’s epoxy putty. This also 'locks' the position of the joint in place. Don’t use much of this at a time, it sets up fast! Mix up enough for one area at a time. As the picture shows the leg areas have the 5 minute putty in place and the shoulder and head do not. I will leave the head and shoulder until I have Batman in position. I will position the arm to be in contact with Batman and the head will be looking at him.

Now that the relative pose of Iron Man Is set I’ll mount him on the base. In order to be able to remove Iron Man from the rod easily I decided to insert an aluminum tube up the left leg of Iron Man that will slide over the brass rod. The base is drilled, the brass rod is inserted and Iron Man is mounted onto the rod. Once Iron Man is mounted I can determine the height and distance of the wall that Batman will leap from.

This is the time consuming part with a resin kit, priming, filling and sanding.
