If you suffer from headaches, mood swings, irritability, memory loss, or weepiness, you are probably sleep deprived. If you are missing out on sleep during the week, try and catch up over the weekend. Add a sleep inducing essential oil such as (Lavender, neroli, chamomile, or mandarin) to your evening bath to help you fall asleep if you re having trouble relaxing.

When you feel worn out, try pinching the point between your thumb and forefinger for two minutes; this reflexology acupressure area releases instant energy.

Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables rich in vitamins, minerals, and fiber. Fruits and vegetables also contain antioxidants, which help prevent cancer and heart disease; and flavonoids, which fight everyday infections and viruses.

Eat some yogurt with live cultures every day to help improve digestion and ease common conditions such as irritable bowel syndrome and yeast infections.

Skin renews itself every 28 days, but the process slows down, as we grow older. Get into the habit of exfoliating your skin once a week and it will feel smoother, softer, and look more radiant. Use a loofah sponge, massage mitt, or body scrub and work on damp skin while in the shower using gentle, circular movements. Pay special attention to areas that are dry such as knees, elbows, and feet, and follow with a generous application of moisturizer.

After you ve had a bath is the best time to moisturize your skin. Smooth on a hydrator while your skin is still damp and it will lock in extra moisture. If you have a few extra minutes, give your problem areas a quick massage to improve circulation and encourage toxins to leave your body. Use your fingertips and palms; working in firm, deep-kneading movements all over those knotted muscles.

Make your own body scrub with a handful of sea salt or sugar mixed with your usual cleanser. If your skin is very dry mix the salt or sugar with honey or vegetable oil for a moisturizing scrub.

Your neck can give your age away. Fewer fat cells and oil producing glands in this area make the neck extra thin and dry. Remember your neck during your skin-care regimen and always smooth creams upward.

The right kind of massage technique can cure all kinds of ills. Swedish massage involves kneading and stroking the skin to relax muscles and stimulate circulation. Reflexology massage treats the whole body by massaging reflex points in your feet causing the production of endorphines which encourage the body to heal itself at its own pace. Lymphatic drainage massage uses light, rhythmic strokes that improve the flow of lymph (colorless fluid that helps fight infection and disease). Cupping massage uses heated glass cups placed stationary or slowly moved across the skin to create a mild vacuum, which gives quick relaxation to muscles and drains excess fluids and toxins from the body.

I hope you enjoy these beauty hints that help keep your body good to go.

Read Jeanne's Latest Monthly Article In Chapel Hill News & Views.

Nails Your Way
Jeanne Grace Curtis
5900 Orchard Road
Douglasville GA 30135-4726

Look for the Hand Sign pointing at the gate!
(All the way at the end of Orchard Road)

Click on Map for Printable Copy.

By Appointment Only

Sun-Mon

Closed

Tues-Sat

11am-7pm

770-949-3113

 HOME | About NYW | ARTICLES | SERVICES & PRICES | MAP
