HR 252 LC 19 2372 A RESOLUTION 1- 1 Commending Mountain View Elementary School; and for other 1- 2 purposes. 1- 3 WHEREAS, Mountain View Elementary School has received the 1- 4 prestigious honor of being named a 1994-1995 Georgia School 1- 5 of Excellence; and 1- 6 WHEREAS, Mountain View Elementary School is located in 1- 7 Marietta, Georgia, and serves a population of 583 regular 1- 8 and special needs students; and 1- 9 WHEREAS, the success of Mountain View is the result of 1-10 teamwork, community involvement, and commitment to the 1-11 mission that all students can become lifelong learners who 1-12 will make a difference in the world; and 1-13 WHEREAS, Mountain View is a community of learners that 1-14 involves the staff, parents, students, and 1-15 partners-in-education in the decision-making process and 1-16 where staff members are professional educators who 1-17 continually develop their skills to provide optimal learning 1-18 strategies for all children; and 1-19 WHEREAS, positive morale from those who teach blends with 1-20 Mountain View's rich history and high academic and 1-21 behavioral expectations to produce enthusiastic and 1-22 dedicated learners; and 1-23 WHEREAS, Mountain View has been recognized for its positive 1-24 site based management model and has been innovative in its 1-25 use of time, funding, and personnel; and 1-26 WHEREAS, Principal Jim Ovbey was named Professional of the 1-27 Year in 1994 for special needs students; and 1-28 WHEREAS, Mountain View is a school with a bright future 1-29 whose goals and priorities are strategic and long range and 1-30 are designed to meet the needs of the school and the 1-31 community. 1-32 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF 1-33 REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend 1-34 Mountain View Elementary School on being named a 1994-1995 House Action Senate
