Hi Mr. *******,

I saw a headline in today's Internet news that sort of agreed with what I have said all along is the reason for the U.S. to go into Afghanistan.

" Over 15 Tons of Drugs Seized in Afghanistan"

(If you click on that link, it takes you to the story..)

In 2001, all I had as a media source was my computer and the Internet. I did not have a television to watch. I gathered all of my news from the Internet. One of the statistics at that time (and I copied everything I read to a Microsoft Word document at the time...) was that, under Taliban rule, Afghanistan produced 45% of the entire world's opium. The opium poppy is the base derivative for heroin production. I am of the opinion that we were fabricated a story about Muslim extremists flying airplanes into U.S. buildings in order to send us to war in Afghanistan.

Remember, George W. Bush's father was the head of the C.I.A. I have not forgotten the Iran-Contra years, nor the increase in drug input under the C.I.A.'s control in the 1980s.

About a year or more or so, I found another story that stated Afghanistan's opium production was UP to creating 80% of the world's opium. This news story linked above now states that they are making 92% of the world's opium!!!! Also, 12.6% of the Afghan population is involved in the production of opium. That's 2.9 million workers.......

In my opinion, with statistics like these, I can understand exactly why Bush wanted to go into Afghanistan.

Not only did he decide to go there to conquer the opium production, he conquered the people as a work force at the same time to produce it for him. All in the guise of getting revenge for the World Trade Center and Pentagon bombings.

Also, when we began the war in Afghanistan, we joined forces with a group called "The Northern Alliance" who had been backed up as a rebel faction into the northern section of Afghanistan. It was reported at the time (and I still have the news coverage copy/pasted to Word documents) that underneath the land the Northern Alliance held, was some of the only UNEXPLOITED crude oil in the entire world.

In my opinion, they sacrificed thousands of people, destroyed the World Trade Center, and plunged us all into war to gain control over virgin crude oil and the world's largest supply of opium.

Oil companies seem to rule the day. The price of gasoline is outrageous, with no end in site. That is one of the obvious things that have changed in a post-9/11 world. But let me ask you, besides the black market, who would use products made by opium poppies? I'll tell you, the United States Pharmaceutical companies. The drug companies need opiates to create modern-day painkillers such as morphine and codeine and others. The drug company lobbyists now have a Presient that has conquered a nation that produces 92% of the main natural resource needed to produce these products.

Have you been to the doctor lately WITHOUT health insurance? The bill will frighten you. The cost of health care makes the cost of buying gas at the pump look like a midget in our economy. I know an 82 year old elderly man who had hit his head in a fall at his home about a year ago. When he got to the hospital, they ran all types of tests on him. He ended up having to stay at the hospital for nearly two weeks. When he got the doctor bill, it was $100,000! His insurance company footed the bill for $80,000 of it.... he had to pay the rest. At 82 years old...... There is something drastically WRONG with this picture. They did not perform any type of surgery and he never saw an operating room. That was $100,000 worth of "preventative medicine" diagnoses.

In my opinion, our society is spinning nearly completely out of control.

When the American Medical Association has THAT MUCH control over the population; when oil companies are in a stranglehold-like control of transportation; how can "we the people" call ourselves free? It seems like we live in a society where the pharmaceutical companies and the oil companies are so strong and politically connected that they are strangling the freedoms of the majority of the people.

The country started out on this preamble:

" We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

Domestic tranquility is at risk. General welfare is at risk. The blessings of liberty are at risk. Something is drastically wrong in our government.

I have never been more convinced as I am today that the wars being waged by the U.S. are NOT for just causes. I firmly believe the American people have been duped by a psychological slight-of-hand orchestrated by a devious leadership in order to plunge us all into war for the goal of political gain.

" Absolute power corrupts absolutely..."

To quote an editorial from a web page "When will the so-called war on terrorism cease? Arguably never. Thus, the president will possess absolute power to ignore existing laws, Congress, the courts and the Constitution itself indefinitely." ( Andrew Greeley - Common Dreams Newscenter -- as published in the Chicago Times) (The link takes you to the editorial as posted on the net.) The editorial is speaking on the issue of "The controversy about spying on the American people fails to understand the implications of "Cheney's Law" -- the president of the United States has unlimited power in his role of commander in chief to do whatever he deems necessary in a time of war."

If there is a war on terrorism which is extended indefinitely, that means the President has increased power in the executive branch of the government.

That is motive enough for me to understand that the powers that be would indeed do something as rash as bomb our own World Trade Center in order to thrust us into war in Afghanistan, resulting in control over the world's largest opium production. Or, lie to the American people pertaining to reasons for going into Iraq and conquering the oil fields.

My cry to my countrymen is this... "wake up!!!"

Or, fall asleep forever.... it is a choice we can choose to make. But in choosing to sleep, we hand over every bit of power and every last notion of our freedom from our individual and collective lives. I, for one, will not be willing to do that. Ever!
