Mexico is teetering on the brink of becoming a failed state. If the federal government of Mexico falls, the drug cartels will seek to put in their own puppet candidates and organized crime will literally own Mexico.
Recently, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told Felipe Calderon that the U.S. State Department is concerned that the drug cartels are 'morphing' into an insurgency. She suggested that something similar to the Colombia Plan might be necessary to defeat the cartels and be certain that the existing federal government maintains control of Mexico. The Colombia Plan essentially required the U.S. military to maintain a presence in Colombia and train, advise and assist the Colombian government in tracking down the cartels and their supporters. Its was successful, however, it took twenty years. Felipe Calderon nearly choked in his effort to deny that Mexico needed such a plan and said that his government could handle the cartels. However, he admitted that the cartels have been literally taking over certain regions of Mexico and actually passing and enforcing their own 'laws' and collecting 'taxes' from the locals.
There are currently some 11-20 million illegal aliens currently at large in the United States. Of those, the PEW CENTER estimates that over 70% of them are from Mexico, with the majority of the remainder being from Central and South America. The average age of these illegal aliens is 27 years of age.
Mexico has a total population of about 109 million people. The illegal aliens from Mexico currently at large in the United States represent about 10% of Mexico's total population. They also represent over an entire generation of Mexico's future. If these people love their native land at all, now is the time to return to Mexico and fight for it. How can Calderon's government fight if they don't have the able bodied and brave young men required? If Mexico is to have a future, it is in the hands of her citizens.
