Appointments to Local Housing Authorities:
The Jesup Housing Authority opposes any legislation that would allow the
appointment of a maximum of one city official to serve on the board of the local
housing authority. This policy would violate the PHA's Annual
Contributions Contract with HUD by creating a conflict of interest within the

Consolidation/Mergers of PHA's: The Jesup
Housing Authority supports the language of this bill, as it simply clarifies
existing language regarding the consolidation or merger of PHA's in Georgia.

HB-260: Revenue Bonds: House Bill 260
was introduced on 1/31/07 for the purpose of requiring certain authorities of
this state to obtain approval of the governing authority of the county or
municipality prior to issuing revenue bonds or spending revenue from such bond
issue. The Jesup Housing Authority opposes the intent

Bill 94 clarifies the process for judgments (writs of
possession) by default. The Jesup Housing Authority supports this
clarification.

NATIONAL ISSUES:
Full Funding of PHA's: The Jesup
Housing Authority supports full funding of public housing authorities in our
country at 100% of eligibility according to the Harvard Cost Study.
PHA's are currently funded at 76% of eligibility under current legislation.
