Edinburgh

Traveling by bus from Lanark to Edinburgh there is much
beautiful scenery.
The scenes you always think of when you imagine Scotland.
The sheep grazing on lush green hills! My words on this page can not truly describe the
feeling you get, the one that you would like to wrap it all around you and keep it close.
And there is so much history I cannot possibly put it all here. Please read about
Scotland, it's kings and queens, it's cities, it's people and it's marvelous history; and
if you ever get an opportunity please visit it.

My favorite view from the Edinburgh Castle

A small Chapel at the Castle. Near where the Crown Jewels
are kept which are not allowed to be photographed. Quite impressive.
The lines were long for these two attractions at the castle.

The Mile Long Street up to the Castle.
The Outlook Tower gives you a marvelous view of the City.

More views of Edinburgh from the castle.

The clouds rolled in and it rained on the only day in my life
that I was
at the Edinburgh Castle. But the scenery was truly beautiful and worth getting wet.

One of the older buildings you can see after climbing the mile
high hill up to the castle. In the background is a mountain that if you are able to climb,
you have a beautiful view of all of Edinburgh.

Our hosts, the McCormicks took us on a tour.
This is bridge over the Firth of Forth near Edinburgh.
You can not see it in this picture but to the far left of this bridge
is the new one and a half mile long suspension bridge for
road traffic which opened in 1964 and this is the railway bridge first used in 1890.

Just up the small winding road from the bridge is a breath taking
view of not only the river but fields of golden wheat.

After preaching a revival in Edinburgh and staying with the
McCormicks
for a week we boarded a bus and went back through Glasgow and
then down the coast line of Scotland to the ferry that would take
us to Belfast Ireland, our next stop.
This is only one of the pictures along that coastline.
