Key Verse: II Corinthians 5:1:

King James Translation: “For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.”

Interlinear Translation: “For we know that if earthly our house of the tabernacle be destroyed, a building from God we have, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.”

Strong’s Concordance Translation: “FOR WE KNOW = to see, be aware, behold, consider, have knowledge, perceive, be sure, understand. THAT IF OUR EARTHLY = earthly group direction, worldly, in earth, terrestrial. HOUSE = an abode, a family especially domestics, home, household. OF THIS TABERNACLE = a hut or temporary residence, i.e. figuratively the human body as the abode of the spirit. WERE DISSOLVED = to loosen down, disintegrate, by implication to demolish, to halt for the night, destroy, be guest, lodge, come to nought, overthrow, throw down, loosen down. WE HAVE A BUILDING OF GOD = architecture, i.e. a structure, figuratively confirmation, edification, edifying. AN HOUSE NOT MADE WITH HANDS = unmanufactured, i.e. inartificial, made without hands. ETERNAL = perpetual, forever, everlasting, world began. IN THE HEAVENS = the idea of elevation, the sky, as the abode of God, by implication happiness, power, eternity.
