Key Verse: Luke 14:27:

King James Translation: “And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.”

Interlinear Translation: “And whosoever carries not his cross, and comes after me, cannot my be disciple.”

Strong’s Concordance Translation: “AND WHOSOEVER = which some, i.e. any that, which same, whereas ye, they which. DOTH NOT BEAR = removal, to lift, figuratively endure, declare, sustain, receive, carry, take up. HIS CROSS = a stake or post as set upright, a pole or cross as an instrument of capital punishment, figuratively exposure to death, i.e. self-denial. AND COME AFTER ME = direction, to the back, i.e. aback, get behind, follow. CANNOT BE MY DISCIPLE = learner, i.e. pupil, to learn in anyway, learn, understand.
