King James Translation: “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
Interlinear Translation: “being persuaded of this very thing, that he who began in you a work good will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ”
Strong’s Concordance Translation: “BEING CONFIDENT OF THIS VERY THING = to convince by argument, by analogy to pacify or conciliate, to assent to evidence or authority, to rely by inward certainty, agree, assure, believe, have confidence, make friend, obey, persuade, trust, yield. THAT HE WHICH HATH BEGUN = ready position, to commence on, rule. A GOOD = benefit, good thing, well, beautiful, valuable, virtuous, honest, worthy. WORK IN YOU = toil as an effort or occupation, by implication an act, deed, doing, labour. WILL PERFORM IT = to fulfill further or completely i.e. execute, by implication to terminate, undergo, accomplish, do, finish, make perfect, perform, performance. UNTIL THE DAY OF JESUS CHRIST = to sit, tame, gentle, literally the time space between dawn and dark, figuratively age, forever, judgment.
