King James Translation: “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that is we ask anything according to his will, he heareth us.”
Interlinear Translation: “And this is the boldness which we have towards him, that if anything we may ask according to his will, he hears us.”
Strong’s Concordance Translation: “AND THIS IS THE CONFIDENCE = all outspokenness, i.e. frankness, bluntness, publicity, by implication assurance, boldness of speech, utter whole. THAT WE HAVE IN HIM = a primary preposition denoting fixed position in place, time, state, instrumentality, a relation of rest. THAT IF WE ASK = beg, call for, crave, desire, require. ANYTHING = a kind of, any thing at all, certain things. ACCORDING = down in place or time, about, concerning, pertaining to, touching. TO HIS WILL = a determination, choice, purpose, decree, volition, inclination, desire, pleasure. HE HEARETH US = give in the audience of, come to the ears, be noised, be reported, understands.
