Key Verse: I John 2:28:

King James Translation: “And now, little children, abide in him, that when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.”

Interlinear Translation: “And now, little children, abide in him, that when he be manifested, we may have boldness, and not be put to shame from before him at his coming.”

Strong’s Concordance Translation: “AND NOW = a transition or emphasis, present or immediate, of late, soon, present, this time. LITTLE CHILDREN = an infant, i.e. darlings, Christian converts, a child as produced, to produce from seed as a mother, a plant, bear, be born, bring forth, be delivered, be in travail. ABIDE IN HIM = to stay in a given place, state, relation or expectancy, continue, dwell, endure, be present, remain, stand, tarry, tarry for thine own. THAT WHEN HE SHALL APPEAR = to render apparent, manifestly declare, shew self, shining, apparent, publicly, externally, known, outward. WE MAY HAVE CONFIDENCE = all outspokenness, i.e. frankness, bluntness, publicity, by implication assurance, boldness of speech, whole litter. AND NOT BE ASHAMED = disfigurement, i.e. disgrace, to feel ashamed for oneself, BEFORE HIM = off, i.e. away from something near in various senses in place, time, relation, separation, departure, cessation, completion, reversal. AT HIS COMING = a being near, i.e. advent, return, presence.
