King James Translation: “And God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding exceeding much, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore.”
Interlinear Translation: “And gave God wisdom to Solomon and discernment much very, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the shore of the sea.”
Strong’s Concordance Translation: “AND GOD GAVE = put, make, add, apply, appoint, ascribe, assign, bestow, bring forth, bring hither, cast, cause, charge, come, commit, consider, count, deliver, distribute, grant, lay unto charge, offer, ordain, perform, place, pour, render, thrust. SOLOMON = peaceful, Shelomoh, safe, i.e. figurative well, happy, friendly, welfare, i.e. health such as a peace, peaceable, prosper, prosperity, rest, safe, safely, salute, welfare, all is well, well wholly. WISDOM = in a good sense, skillful, wisely, wit. AND UNDERSTANDING = intelligence, by implication an argument, by extension caprice, discretion, reason, skillfulness, wisdom. EXCEEDING MUCH = vehemence, i.e. vehemently, by implication wholly, speedily, diligently, especially, good, great, louder and louder, quickly, so sore, very much. AND LARGENESS = wideness, width, breadth, broad, thickness, wideness. OF HEART = the feelings, will intellect, center of anything, care for, comfortably, consent, considered. EVEN AS THE SAND = as round or whirling particles, dry grass, chaff, straw as dry stubble, to become sapless, through drought, to assemble, gather selves together. THAT IS ON THE SEA = to roar, noisy surf. SHORE = termination, the lip as a natural boundary, by implication language, by analogy a margin of a vessel, water, cloth, band, bank, binding, border, brim, brink, edge, prating, speck, talk, vain words.
