King James Translation: “By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff.”

Interlinear Translation: “By faith Jacob dying each of the sons of Joseph blessed and worshipped on the top of his staff.”

Strong’s Concordance Translation: “BY FAITH = persuasion, i.e. credence, morally conviction of religious truth, or the truthfulness of God, reliance upon Christ for salvation, constancy in such profession, system of religious truth itself, assurance, belief, fidelity. JACOB = heel catcher, supplanter. WHEN HE WAS A DYING = to die off, be dead, death, die, lie a dying, be slain. BLESSED = said good, to speak well of, i.e. religiously to bless thank or invoke a benediction upon, prosper, praise. BOTH THE SONS OF JOSEPH = let him add, adding, to add or augment, to continue to do a thing, prolong. AND WOSHIPPED = fore hound, toward dog, to kiss like a dog licking his master’s hand, to fawn or crouch to, i.e. prostrate oneself in homage, do reverence, to adore. LEANING = to recline. UPON THE TOP = the extremity, one end, tip, uttermost part. OF HIS STAFF = a stick or want as a cudgel, a cane or a baton of royalty, sceptre, rod.
