King James Translation: “Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest, yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.”

Interlinear Translation: “Correct your son, and you get rest, and it will give delight to your soul.”

Strong’s Concordance Translation: “CORRECT = to chastise literally with blows or figuratively with words hence to instruct, bind, chasten, chastise, punish, reform, reprove, sore, teach. THY SON = as a builder of the family name, relationship, subject, nation, quality, condition, one born, bouth, branch, breed, very fruitful, servant born, spark, tumultuous one, whelp, young one, youth. AND HE SHALL GIVE = put, make, add, apply, appoint, ascribe, assign, bestow, bring forth, bring hither, cast, cause, charge, commit, consider, count. THEE REST = settle down, to dwell, stay, let fall, place, let alone, withdraw, give comfort, cease, be confederate. YEA HE SHALL GIVE DELIGHT = a delicacy or pleasure, cheerfully, dainty, delicately, to be soft or pleasant, to live voluptuously, delight self. UNTO THY SOUL = a breathing creature, vitality, appetite, beast, body, breath, creature, contented, heart, mind, person, pleasure.
