The Lafayette City-Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness has
constructed a remote receiver site for the 145.370 Mhz
Skywarn/ARES/RACES repeater system. Amateur radio operators may
transmit on 145.370 -600 Khz offset with a P.L. tone of 94.8 Hz
to gain access to the system when in the Broussard vicinity. A
similar remote receiver site already exists at Cajun Field.
Following are photographs taken during its construction and
assembly.

Water Tower is visible in the distance. The remote
receiver is located under the tower.

The concrete slab that will support the remote
receiver electronics. It was constructed March 3, 1999.

L-shaped slab. The cabinet will sit on the
top part high off of the ground.

The four mounting bolts for the cabinet can be seen.
One conduit will be for wires and the other for
a grounding rod.

Thanks to everyone involved, the remote receiver
may soon be a reality!.
