Nanette L. Avery is a teacher and
accomplished writer, having authored a number of works, most
notably Sixty Jars in a Pioneer Town,
a historical fiction novel, which has enjoyed widespread popularity.
With half a dozen or more articles in Teaching K-8 Magazine,
and numerous articles in other academic publications, Nanette's
expertise is well renowned in educational circles. Not just
successful as a writer, Nanette has been invited to speak at
numerous writing workshops, book festivals, and literacy conferences
throughout Florida. Recognized nationally, Nanette has received
the 2009 and 2006 Teachers as Heroes Award presented by the
Dade Reading Council, the Dade Reading Councils Literary Grant,
and many other prestigious awards. Nanette currently resides
with her husband in Miami, Florida; they have two adult children
in their twenties.
Nanette is available to share her expertise, and give workshops to
schools and libraries.
