THE WONDER OF AN EAGLE

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31)

Do you love eagles ? So do I....and so does God. He created the eagle for His glory, and to teach us some valuable spiritual lessons. The eagle is mentioned 34 times in the word of God. Revelation 4:7 tells us that when we get to heaven, we will see around the throne of God, a “beast” like a flying eagle.  “And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle.”

THE WAYS OF THE EAGLE

 Power of the Eagle
Ounce for ounce, pound for pound, nothing made of flesh and bone is as strong as an eagle. An eagle can crush a man’s hand in the grip of its talons and can carry a small sheep for miles.

Swiftness of the Eagle
An eagle can fly at over 150 miles an hour and when going after its intended prey, can dive at speeds of up to 200 miles an hour!

Majesty of the Eagle
The eagle is truly the “Monarch of the air”. It soars at altitudes of over 2400 feet. Its wingspan of over 7 feet allows the eagle to glide effortlessly through the air, using the wind currents, even turbulence to its advantage. Eagles have even been seen in the midst of hurricanes and tornados, hovering motionlessly, moving only their primary feathers while destruction is all around. The unique bone structure over an eagle’s eyes gives it a regal look of decisiveness. He knows who he is...what he is...and where he is going.

Vision of the Eagle
An eagle has amazingly sharp eyesight...80 times sharper than a man’s. For example, an eagle can see something as small as a rabbit from a distance of almost 2 miles! It’s 270 degree area of vision allows an eagle to survey 4 and 1/2 miles of territory.

THE LESSON OF THE EAGLE

Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles’ wings, and brought you unto myself. (Exodus 19 4).

Friend, there is one more amazing “eagle fact” that I want to share with you from the scripture above. What did God mean by telling the Israelites “...I bare you on eagles wings...” ?  When the adult eagle is teaching the young eaglet to fly, it uses its primary fathers to create an air current that actually lifts the eaglet. If necessary the eagle can create a vacuum with its powerful wings and draw its young up under its protective wings. To bare in this context means to lift.
The eagle lifts up its young and draws it under its protective wing. God the Father lifted the Israelites out of the bondage of Egypt.
    Now consider this:

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (John 3:14 -18).

No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. (John 6:44).

And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. (John 12:32).

Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. (James 4:10).

Just as the eagle lifts its young to safety and God lifted the Israelites from their bondage in Egypt, the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins so that we might be lifted up with Him.
Lifted from the penalty of sin -

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23).

Lifted from the power of sin -

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. (Romans 8:2).

Friend, let me ask you a final question: Have you made the choice to trust the Lord Jesus Christ, and Him alone as your Saviour? If not, would you do it right now?
    Here’s how:

Believe you are a sinner and deserve Hell

Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”

Romans 6:23a “For the wages of sin is death;”

Rev 20:14   “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire this is the second death

Even so, He loved us enough to provide a way to escape Hell and live forever with Him in Heaven.

Romans 6:23b “but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

I Corinthians 15:3-4....Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures

Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved

God has by His Grace given you one more chance to see the truth. If you  will respond to Him, He will give you eternal life as a free gift. If you will believe on Jesus why not call on Him and tell Him so.
