LAND OF THE FREE?| Our nation is becoming everything but free.
We are losing our freedoms in America because America is becoming a godless
nation. We are being told that God is offensive to people. It is offensive
to pray in public, or to display God’s Word in public. The Ten Commandments
of God are being removed from the public forum. It is the goal of the godless
liberals to take the very mention of God out of every public building in
this nation. We as Christians need to stand for righteousness. We as Christians have let down the wall when we did not stand against Madeline Murray O’Hare in 1962 when they removed prayer from our schools. We did not stand when they took the Bible out of our schools. We did not stand when they passed Roe vs. Wade to murder millions of innocent babies. What has happened to the pastors of this land and the church members who are satisfied to sit in church and not get involved. Where are the watchmen on the wall crying out the alarm. We have sat back and allowed this to happen. I was in Montgomery, AL this month on the steps of the Supreme Court Judicial building where I and my family stood for five days. We watched as people stood for God and for the Ten Commandments. We have heard people say that this Ten Commandments issue is not all that important...it offends people! Have you ever heard anyone try to force people to read the Bible or quote the Ten Commandments or to pray in public. Which commandment is it that offends them so, “Thou shalt not steal” or “Thou shalt not kill” ? Aren’t our courts suppose to stop murders or thievery? I tell you the truth it is commandment number one that they hate, “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” They do not want God to rule over them so they do all they can to remove His law. About three blocks away from the Alabama Judicial building is the Federal Court House where federal judge Myron Thompson has his office. Myron Thompson is the man who issued the court ruling against Chief Justice Roy Moore to have the Ten Commandments removed from the judicial building. Thompson along with the A.C.L.U. and the atheists said that the Ten Commandments are offensive. In front of Judge Thompson’s federal courthouse building stands the monument of the pagan goddess “Themis” with a beautiful fountain built around it. Does this offend you? It does me! It seems that we cannot honor our God but it is okay if they honor theirs. If they are removing our Ten Commandments monument in Alabama, when are they going to go to the U.S. Supreme Court House in Washington, D.C. and remove the carving on the wall of Moses holding the Ten Commandments. In the House of Representatives the motto of the USA is engraved in stone “In God We Trust”. This nation was founded on God’s Word. When they take God out of the public forum this nation will lose all of our freedoms and our rights. It will only be a matter of time before you will not be able to worship at home or have a Bible study in your house. In other countries Christians are being persecuted and killed for their beliefs and for owning a copy of the precious Word of God. Christians, Wake Up! Where are the patriots today who are standing for our Saviour, standing for our freedom, standing for our Constitution, and standing for our children. Dad, if Jesus Christ does not come back soon, what will you say when your grandchildren ask you, “Grandfather, why do we have to hide in the basement to read our Bibles?” Ephesians 5:14 says, “Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.” Wake up Christian and stand for righteousness while you still can!
