or Demonic Deception? |

| Millions of people around the world
have caught “Harry Potter Fever.” Children around the world
love Harry. Retailers are crazy about him. Parents and Teachers are overjoyed
that children are reading books which can run over 700 pages long. Even many
so called christian leaders are praising the books as a tale of good verses
evil. It is clear that most people think highly of the Harry Potter series,
but the real question should be what does God think about it? The US version
of book one (and the movie) is called “Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone”
and is set, as all the books are, at the “Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and
Wizardry” To find our answer we need to look at what the Bible says
about witchcraft, wizards and sorcery:
Deuteronomy 18:10-12
Many will say that Harry is a good wizard who
uses his powers for good, but God says here that “all that do these
things are an abomination unto the LORD ” Notice that word “all.”
There is no such thing as a good witch, or a good wizard. An abomination
is something which God is disgusted at. “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil;” Isaiah 5:20 If God hates something you had better not call it innocent or harmless. Revelation 9:20-21
Here sorcery is listed on equal footing with devil worship, idolatry, fornication and murder. The term sorcery is connected to drug use. Harry and his friends are taught to make and take potions which contain such ingredients as wormwood and belladonna. both are real life ingredients used to make real life drugs. Wormwood is used to make a hallucinogen and belladonna is a poison. Do you want your children playing with such things? Only a Movie? Now some may be saying “This is fiction!” “It’s only a book and a movie” It is true that Harry is a fictional character, but witchcraft is a real religion which has been practiced for thousands of years. While most modern day witches will claim that they do not worship Satan, they do call on “spirits” and worship the “forces of nature.” Most will admit however, that the so called good or “White” magic and the evil “Black” magic both come from the same source. Harry Potter is true to this belief in that both his wand and the evil Voldemort’s draw their powers from a magic tail feather from the same phoenix. There are only two sources of spiritual power. Either God or Satan and his demons. Since God calls witchcraft an abomination, where does that leave Harry? Who is Satan? Many people have a very wrong idea of Satan. We imagine him as a guy with horns and a goatee walking around in red underwear and carrying a pitchfork. But the Bible describes him very differently. In Ezekiel 28 he is described as a beautiful angel and in II Corinthians 11 he is called an angel of light. His chief aim is to deceive, so he often appears as the good guy. As long as glory is taken away from God, he wins. Even the Church of Satan emphasizes self worship more than Satan worship. Who gets the glory in the Harry Potter books? Obviously, not God. Satanic Symbolism “Mr. Nicolas Flamel, the noted alchemist and opera lover. Mr. Flamel, who celebrated his six hundred and sixty-fifth birthday last year , enjoys a quiet life in Devon ..." [p. 220, Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone” If he was 665 last year it doesn't take a genius to see that he is 666 this year !! I trust no one is so simple as to think this is a mere coincidence! 666 is the number of the beast. Revelation 13:16-18

| Notice also that this passage mentions a mark on
the forehead. As can be seen from any picture of Harry, he has a lightning
bolt mark on the center of his forehead. The lightning bolt is significant
also. It is used by Satanists as a symbol of power; and the Bible ties Satan
to the lightning bolt as well:
Luke 18:10 |

Yes he does! There is so much teaching today about the love of God, and this is an important truth which the world needs to know. But it is overemphasized to the point that people forget that God is also HOLY! Think about this: God cursed the entire creation because Adam disobeyed God’s command not to eat from a certain tree.(Genesis 3) Do you think it is a light thing to Him for you to take part in something which so blatantly glorifies Satan? If you have read this tract you cannot plead ignorance. you have seen the truth. To Christians |

Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 6:23a “For the wages of sin is death;” Rev 20:14 “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire this is the second death Even so, He loved us enough to provide a way to escape Hell and live forever with Him in Heaven. Romans 6:23b “but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” I Corinthians 15:3-4....Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved God has by His Grace given you one more chance to see the truth. If you will respond to Him, He will give you eternal life as a free gift. If you will believe on Jesus why not call on Him and tell Him so. |
