![]() Site of the 1996 and 1998 Championships and the 1997 Semi-finals, Stadium Court has seen some of the all-time classic matches in Masters history. The Court seating has been altered routinely over the years, and Stadium is the only Court to ever feature luxury boxes - in 1997 and 1998. These high-class accomodations are not reserved for large corporate contributors, either, but are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to their enormous popularity, "saving" of seats cannot be permitted. Less-refined spectators can take advantage of the Masters-green circular chairs directly adjacent to Stadium. Stadium has also been the site of several significant and near upsets (eventual Champion Bruce Mason was nearly ousted in the round of 16 in 1996). Fans and players alike know that every match contested on Stadium has the potential to be of historical significance. Stadium also seems to encourage the highest amount of player drinking during matches, perhaps with the contestants egged-on by the large crowds sure to be in attendance at any Stadium event. The adjacent placement of large beer coolers also makes Stadium a popular locale with players and spectators alike. An early arrival is always a good idea if you want to watch the hotly-contested matches at Stadium. |
