Information relating to "U.P.C. reseller" sites that I have not verified for one reason or another.
Aurea Media at http://www.aureamedia.com/upc_barcodes.htm, 3516 - 1st Street. N.E. Calgary, Alberta,T2E 3C9. They apparently obtained their manufacture prefix from the Canadian authority (ECCC) and I have no information as to whether or not their contract prohibits subdividing their number. They do not list an e-mail contact and since I have a hearing deficiency, I don't use the phone and could not obtain further information. If anyone learns more, please let me know. In the mean time be careful
UPCexpress at www.upcexpress.com , advertises single bar codes for sale. I am aware of this company's site, but repeated e-mails to them about when they acquired their manufacture prefix have not been answered. Therefore approach with caution.
Cheap UPC Barcode at www.cheap-upc-barcode.com , advertises bar codes for sale. They obtained their Company Prefix Licence from GS1 Canada after March 31, 1997. Companies purchasing a license after that date agreed to terms prohibiting them from subdividing their prefix (sec. 2.1.3). The agreement also states that the license can can be terminated if the company does not comply (sec. 2.4.2). Further GS1ca's agreement says they may reissue the Company Prefix to other parties. (sec. 2.4.2). I do not advise using numbers from this reseller.
Before ordering from any reseller Please READ before you buy and GS1 US letters. If anyone learns more, please let me know, in the mean time be careful.
